We’re pleased to share that Graham Cowan has been accepted as an Associate Member of the Association for Project Safety (APS), adding the AaPS post-nominals to his existing professional credentials.

The Association for Project Safety is a professional body dedicated to improving health, safety and risk management throughout the built environment. Its members work across construction, design and project safety, supporting higher professional standards and safer working practices across the sector.

Associate Membership is available to experienced practitioners and professionals with relevant construction, design or construction health and safety experience, and provides access to APS guidance, resources, professional development and industry updates.

For Graham, membership further supports an already established commitment to professional development and practical, informed health and safety consultancy.

Graham is also a Chartered Fellow of IOSH (CFIOSH), Fellow of IIRSM (FIIRSM), Technician Member of IFSM, OSHCR Registered Consultant, BSI Associate Consultant and FPA Individual Member, with more than 30 years of practical experience across health and safety, construction, fire safety and compliance.

Supporting safer construction and project delivery

Construction is becoming an increasingly important part of the consultancy’s work.

For construction businesses, compliance can involve a wide range of responsibilities across project planning, design, contractors, documentation, risk management and day-to-day site activity.

Graham Cowan QHSE Consultancy Services Ltd supports clients, contractors and project teams with practical health and safety advice, including:

The aim is to help organisations understand what applies to them, what needs to be in place and how their responsibilities can be managed in practice.

The addition of APS membership strengthens Graham’s access to specialist construction safety guidance, CPD and industry resources, helping ensure advice remains aligned with current practice and developing standards.

A stronger focus on construction

Graham has worked across health and safety and construction for many years, but the consultancy is now giving greater focus to the specific support needed by construction businesses and project teams.

This includes organisations that may not require a full-time health and safety resource, but still need access to competent advice when projects, clients or regulatory responsibilities demand it.

Dedicated support is now available across Principal Designer duties, CDM responsibilities and Building Safety Management, alongside the consultancy’s wider Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Training and ISO services.

This allows construction businesses to access support that is relevant to the work they are carrying out, without making compliance more complicated than it needs to be.

Continuing professional development

For Graham, becoming Graham Cowan CFIOSH, FIIRSM, TIFSM, AaPS represents another step in the continued development of the consultancy and the expertise available to its clients.

As the business continues to support organisations across construction, care, education, property management, manufacturing and other regulated sectors, professional development remains central to the way that support is delivered.

Our approach remains simple: clear, practical guidance that helps organisations understand their responsibilities, manage risk and maintain compliance.

Protection Through Prevention.
