Course Description
This one-day course covers essential first aid topics, including assessing and managing emergencies, performing CPR, controlling bleeding, treating shock, burns, and responding to various injuries and medical conditions. It includes both theoretical and practical elements. Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training and able to carry out practical tasks at floor level. Assessment is through practical demonstrations — including two minutes of CPR — and a multiple-choice question paper. Successful learners will be awarded the QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, valid for three years. After this period, a requalification course is required to maintain certification. The course is designed to meet the requirements of the UK Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations, which require employers to provide adequate and appropriate first aid training for their employees
